Jennifer O’Connor is back with a new Valentine’s Day collaborative single with her Adopted Highways bandmate and producer Tom Beaujour. “Love Bites”, their cover of the 1987 smash by Def Leppard, is here just in time to bring some power ballad sunshine to this holiday weekend, regardless of your current romantic status.

Jennifer & Tom, both lifelong fans of Def Leppard, recorded the song last summer before beginning work on Jennifer’s forthcoming 7th album.

Beaujour remarked, “We wisely decided to warm up for Jennifer’s album by tackling a cover of the hardest Def Leppard song to sing... with the most epic Mutt Lange production. Totally as foolhardy as it was fun.”

“Tom and I went to see a Def Leppard/Poison/Lita Ford triple bill together a few years back and the Hysteria album was a really big part of my life in high school,” O’Connor said. “We thought this would be a fun project to tackle and a great way to get reacquainted with our process together in the studio before embarking on my new record. I think I sang for about 8 hours straight to get all the vocals right. Ha!”

O’Connor’s as yet-untitled 7th album will be out later this year.

Keeping in theme, Beaujour has a new book out next month, co-authored with Richard Bienstock, called Nöthin' But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of the '80s Hard Rock Explosion. It will be published on March 16 by St. Martin’s Press.
